10 Coffee Brewing Methods for the Perfect Cup of Coffee

The Top 10 Coffee Brewing Methods for the Perfect Cup of Coffee

Nothing hits the spot first thing in the morning like a hot cup of coffee. The smell and taste of a perfectly brewed cup can be hard to beat.

Whether you are a seasoned coffee connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of coffee, there is a brewing method that is perfect for you.

In this article, we are going to break down the top 10 coffee brewing methods and give you all the information you need to brew a perfect cup of joe at home. Luxio.com offers coffee, coffee equipment, and more. Be sure to check out our Coffee Collection after the article so you can perfect some of these methods (or all of them!)

  1. French Press

Our first brewing method is the French Press. The French Press is a classic brewing method that is simple to use and produces a rich, full-bodied cup of coffee. All you need to brew with a French Press is coarsely ground coffee, water, and a plunger. Luxio.com offers Onyx Coffee, & their “Ethiopia Negusse Nare Bombe Natural, Medium Roast” is great for French Press!

To brew with a French Press, start by heating your water to just below boiling. Then, add your coffee grounds to the press and pour in just enough water to wet the grounds.

Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds and then add the remaining water. Place the plunger on top of the press but do not plunge yet. Allow the coffee to brew for 3-4 minutes and then slowly press down on the plunger. Pour your coffee into a mug and enjoy!

What You'll Need:

  1. Aeropress

The Aeropress is a unique brewing method that uses pressure to extract the coffee’s flavor. This brewing method is perfect for those who want a quick and easy cup of coffee. All you need to brew with an Aeropress is coffee, water, and filters.

To brew with an Aeropress, start by heating your water to just below boiling. Then, add your coffee grounds to the chamber and pour in enough water to wet the grounds. Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds and then add the remaining water. Place the filter on top of the chamber and screw on the cap. Push the plunger all the way down and plunge for 30 seconds. Pour your coffee into a mug and enjoy!

What You'll Need:

  1. Siphon (Hario)

The Siphon brewing method is a bit more complicated than the French Press and Aeropress, but it produces a delicious cup of coffee. To brew with a Siphon, you will need coffee, water, a heat source, and two chambers.

To brew with a Siphon, start by heating your water to just below boiling. Then, add your coffee grounds to the upper chamber and pour in enough water to wet the grounds.

Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds and then add the remaining water. Place the upper chamber on top of the lower chamber and screw on the lid. Put the Siphon over your heat source and wait for the water to boil.

Once the water boils, it will start to siphon into the upper chamber. When all of the water has siphoned into the upper chamber, remove it from the heat source. Allow the coffee to brew for 3 minutes and then stir.

To serve, put the upper chamber back on top of the lower chamber and screw on the lid. This will start the siphoning process reverse, and coffee will flow back into the lower chamber. Once all of the coffee has been siphoned, pour it into a mug and enjoy!
